Do I need to know a lot about first aid?
You don't need to know a lot about first aid. You just need to be willing to learn and have a deep interest in helping others.
Do I need to be able to ski or snowboard?
You do need to be a capable skier or snowboarder. You should be able to capably descend a black diamond run, exercising poise, control and the ability to quickly stop in a controlled manner.
Is it hard?
We won't kid you, there is an upfront time commitment of about six months, candidates must complete an Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) class that starts in early September and ends in late November & that is followed by three months of on-the-hill training. (see more below)
